City of Bhopal is, at last getting in the process of building a memorial dedicated to the memory of those who died here 21 years back in the worst ever industrial tragedy of the country. This issue features the first two prize winning design entries of the competition held for finalizing the memorial design.
Andre Tammes, Australia based lighting designer is currently involved in many projects across the country including development of Sri Harmandir Sahib complex at Amritsar. During one of his visits to the capital, we spoke to him on various aspects of lighting design and their applications in the landscape projects.
Yamuna Biodiversity Park at Waziarabad, Delhi, is one of the few examples of an environment-planning project in an urban situation (supported by government departments) in which landscape professionals, along with experts from other disciplines have played an important role right from the inception stage. This issue presents the design concept of this ecologically sensitive scheme on flood plains of river Yamuna.
